Dear Members, Dear Partners, dear Internet users
The Council of Private Investors in Benin (CIPB) is an Association created in December 2002 by a group of entrepreneurs (BOA, BOLLORE, COLAS, FLUDOR, SOBEBRA, SOBEPEC, SOCAR) having significantly invested in Benin and moreover aware of the need to involve themselves in the future of the country where they have settled down.
The CIPB counts over 50 large companies, from all Trades and Sectors of activity who have decided to come together, and join their experiences, skills and economic weight in order to improve the business climate in Benin.
Devoid of any political ambition, our vision, role and activities are meant to improve the business climate, the well-being of the populations and the development of Benin. This implies the need to maintain a permanent Public-Private dialogue.
The areas of intervention of the CIPB mainly concern Taxation and Justice, which are at the heart of business issues. We also carry out reflections, exchanges, analyses through our Tax and Justice Working Groups and make proposals to the Government through advocacy work for a fairer taxation and a more efficient justice.
On the one hand, we identify all the brakes and obstacles to development that weaken both our member companies and the country as a whole, in order to suggest solutions to the problems they face.
On the other hand, we are keen to provide answers to the specific concerns of each of our members.
In addition to Tax and Justice, which are our specificities, the CIPB also addresses other important themes for the economic development of the country, the good health of companies, employment and the optimization of local resources, through publications, organization of breakfast debates, afterworks-debates, charity galas on specific topics. These include:
– Agro-industrial issues such as: The Cashew sector which we consider to be one of the jewels of the Beninese economy;
– Socio-economic issues such as demography, Covid-19;
– Social issues: education, malnutrition, early pregnancies…
One of the socio-economic obstacles in this year 2020 is the Covid-19 pandemic which is raging in the world in general and particularly in Benin. Indeed, Covid-19 is changing the future of businesses and the country. We will have to adapt to it and carry out a set of reflections with the government for a readjustment of our economy.
Through this site, the CIPB hopes to:
– Exchanges of interactions;
– Identifying your concerns in order to find solutions;
– Communicate information on our activities and those useful to the Private Sector and share with you the results of our activities.
Together, let’s act for a good business climate.
Good navigation
