On July 22, 2021 at the Novotel-Orisha, the consultation framework meeting between the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the private sector was held.
This was an opportunity for the Taxation Working Group to present the platform of Beninese Private Sector tax proposals for the 2022 finance law.
During this meeting, the private sector exposed specific difficulties encountered.
The Ministry’s responses were clear and precise on most of the problems and difficulties raised. Some will be taken into account and the appropriate responses will be provided at the next sectoral meetings (eg restaurant & hotel).
The next finance law seems to take into account the concerns of the private sector. It has not yet been validated by the National Assembly.
Appointment is made for the seminar on taxation which will take place at the beginning of January 2022 and which will allow participants (private sector actors) to better understand the reforms in progress.
This meeting ended with a cocktail offered by the Ministry, in a warm atmosphere.
